About Me

If you want more detail on my performance history, I have included a copy of my opera resume:

I spent my childhood and adolescence on the west coast, where I reside today.

Music has always been a part of me. I saw my first opera at four years old. I squeaked out my first few notes on the violin at six years old. But it wasn’t until the age of fourteen that I began to study the activity that already felt like second nature to me- singing.

Since then I have focused on developing my singing voice and helping others to do the same.

Teenage Liz, who is very excited to get paid to sing about beer and wine but unfortunately does not have a great phone camera because the year is literally 2009.

I moved to Portland, OR to pursue a Bachelors of Music at Portland State University. This exposed me not only to more opera productions, but choral music as well. I graduated in 2014.

After a two years of working and teaching, I began studying for a Masters Degree at the Schwob School of Music in Columbus GA. There was much improvement in technique and musicianship, but also costumes that were maybe just a little too much fun to perform in:

What? Just two sisters who are being VERY nice to their stepsister, Cinderella…

In the Spring of 2019, I returned to the west coast with my degree and more experience.

Today, I continue to work, teach, and perform whatever else is required of me as an opera nerd.

Loren Reash-Henz as Dr. Bartolo, and myself as Marcellina.
